This is a program that connects to a Discord Bot or User to locally download files posted in Discord channels in real-time as well as old messages. As far as I know, most countries' laws allow you to download images for personal use anyway, and certainly nobody* would take any action against you for downloading one.Need help? Have suggestions? Join the Discord server! If you're worried that your download violated copyright, don't be. The website can make it so that when you right click, the image url changes to a trackable url, but that still doesn't prove anything, and that requires the image to be downloaded again, so most sites (with the notable exception of Google images) are unlikely to do this. In theory, the site could do some analysis of the HTTP requests to discover that you hadn't loaded the page recently, but the evidence that you downloaded the image is pretty weak, and nobody would go to all that effort to identify the IP addresses of people who download images from their site. If you try to download the image, the browser sends an identical request to load the image again (though often it's cached, in which case the specifics depend on how the site has been implemented). It is possible for them to find out, but doing so would be fairly complicated, and it would be much easier for them to just prevent you from downloading the image in the first place if they were so bothered about it.Įvery time you load a website, your browser requests the images that are on that site.
